In March, BAA raised £265m from the sale of 33 properties owned in a joint venture with Morley Fund Management. A sale of one of its valuable airports assets would, “kill two birds with one stone”, according to Simon Denham, managing director at Capital Spreads. The firm owns Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Southampton and Aberdeen airports. A Competition Commission report into BAA published last month said the firm “dominates the airports markets in the south-east of England and in lowland Scotland”. BAA is in the process of trying to renegotiate its debt, but is also under pressure to sell one or more of its airports to boost competition.
Spain’s Ferrovial borrowed heavily to fund the £10bn purchase of Heathrow and Edinburgh airport and has slowly fallen into debt because of it. BAA said so far it lacked “sufficient commitments” from banks for its refinancing plans mostly die to the credit crunch.

We have all noticed China’s quick growth and even quicker pollution output, but now they’re taking to the skies in a bid to battle the Boeing and Airbus. China has tried to penetrate this market before and it now has a renewed fire to burn. The new aircraft built will hold 90 passengers a flight and has hopes of being a new competitor in the flying industry.
China is still sane of mind and said themselves that they know penetrating the flying industry won’t be easy and they know from the Boeing and Airbus companies that they won’t do in their first version. The new commercial China aircraft is backed by state and regional governments and has already had £1.4 billion initial investment.

You may have noticed, if you live in England, that royal mail post offices have been shutting down around the country. Many small villages are now unable to send mail to their friends and family because the royal mail is loosing money, mostly due to the fact that the internet is quicker, cheaper and actually gets to its destination.
Even though royal mail is in financial ruin and is begging the government for some kind of subsidy they still manages to give their chief executive 3 million pounds. Many people are outraged at this amount but royal mail says he exceeded their objectives and deserves it. Personally I don’t think he does.

Npower may have been caught using aggressive tactics, but the problem looks wider than thought. The gas and electricity watch say that Npower gets the highest amount of complaints than any other company on their watch. Npower said that they are comply with OFGEM and is also launching its own investigation into these claims.
Granted, they’re trying to do something about these claims, but it is too little too late. People who have felt the Npower salesman’s aggressive and misleading antics have said that they felt “threatened” and at risk by their behaviour. Watchdog says they’ve had 70% more complaints about Npower then any other company and I’d like to know why it’s taken so long for us, the public, to actually find out about Npowers tactics. You would have thought that Watchdog would be first to announce it, but strangely they’ve had bigger news to shout out, apparently.
